In recent years, the number of airlines, airports and direct flights have increased throughout Turkey making it easier to travel the great distances, often at very affordable prices. Bus travel is still a popular option for many travelers, however, with the increased number of affordable flights, you can avoid some of the 10-12 hour overnight bus trips by taking advantage of the efficient flight schedules available throughout the country.
Below we have listed some of the more popular routes with flight information.
Istanbul - Cappadocia and Cappadocia - Istanbul Flights
To get to/from the Cappadocia area, there are 2 airports – Kayseri and Nevsehir. The Kayseri Erkilet Airport is located 70km or 1 hour from Goreme. Nevsehir Kapadokya Airport is 40km or 40 minutes from Goreme. Kayseri airport is the larger of the two and has more flight options as well as being serviced by other airlines. Nevsehir, while closer is only serviced by Turkish Airlines. Either airport is a convenient way to fly in or out of the Cappadocia region. Airport transfer shuttles, public and private, are available for all flight times and we can arrange pick up or drop off to/from your hotel in both Istanbul and Goreme/Cappadocia.
Istanbul also has 2 airports – The Ataturk Airport and the Sabiha Gokcen Airport. The Ataturk Airport is located on the European side and is the biggest airport in Turkey. The smaller Sabiha Gokcen Airport is located on the Asian side – and it can often take more than an hour to reach Sultanahmet from the Sabiha Gokcen Airport.

Cappadocia - Izmir and Izmir - Cappadocia Flights
The Izmir Adnan Menderes International Airport is located 60 km or 1 hour drive from Selcuk (Ephesus area) and 80 km (1 hour 15 minutes) drive from Kusadasi. We can arrange airport transfers to/from this airport to/from Ephesus region hotels.

HOW TO BOOK A FLIGHT TICKET
Please send us an email (info@goreme.com) with the following details for each passenger:
- Title (Mr or Mrs/Ms – necessary for booking some forms of travel within Turkey)
- Name and surname (as written in your passport)
- Flight date(s)
– Preferred departure/arrival time
- Flight route/destination(s)
When we receive your request, we will send you all alternative flights and rates available for your destination. To complete the flight booking, we will ask for your credit card details through our 128 Bit SSL Secure form. After the purchase, you will receive your e-ticket by email and will be able to check-in to your flight with your picture ID/passport.
